Our D-Z training includes a mix of in-truck and in-class training that provides the essential skills and knowledge that transportation companies require from entry-level drivers. We offer D-Z Driver Training which does not require approval under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.


Basic DZ Driver Training


Truck Training Academy of Stoney Creek is offering 20 hours of behind the wheels D-Z driver training on 10 or 13 speed transmission vehicles.

The following seminars are recommended to students applying for the D-Z license:
• Air Brake Endorsement - Z Course
• Pre-Trip Inspection
• Defensive Driving Techniques, P.D.I.C.
• Highway Traffic Act & C.V.O.R.


Important:

Please note; student must be 18 years of age and hold a full G license to apply for a class D-Z license.

When you obtain a D-Z license you can operate the following commercial vehicles: straight truck, dump truck and fire truck.

Once you hold a class D-Z license you are able to drive F-Z vehicles provided that you pass the class F written test.


Driver training includes the following areas:

  • In the Yard Training:
      • Vehicle Inspection
      • Backing on the dock and Parallel Parking
      • Knowledge of Vehicles Devices
  • On the Road Training:
      • Gear Shifting & Clutch Use
      • Maneuvers to Make Proper Turns
      • City and highway driving
  • Use of our vehicles for Road Test:
      • Vehicle for the road test provided by the school as well as the appointment

Our staff is friendly, knowledgeable and has a wealth of experience within the transportation industry.

Our instructors have accumulated a tremendous amount of over the road miles driving commercial motor vehicles. Their combined driving experience includes U.S. border crossing, dry van, climate controlled freight, flatbed, tanker and transporting dangerous goods.
